Attachment & Healing
Evidence-Based, Trauma-
Informed Therapy
Approaches
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. That’s why we draw from a variety of trauma-informed, brain-based, and evidence-supported modalities—so we can tailor your care to your unique needs, history, and healing goals. Whether you’re seeking therapy for yourself or your child, we’ll work together to find the right approach for your story, your nervous system, and your pace.
How We Choose the Right
Approach
Each person’s story is unique. Your therapy plan will be personalized based on:
- Your goals and history
- What your nervous system can tolerate
- Your preferences for structure, creativity, or somatic work
- Whether you’re seeking therapy for yourself, your child, or both
We’ll explore these together and move forward at a pace that feels right for you.
Our Most Commonly Used Modalities
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Best for: Adults and children healing from trauma, relational wounds, anxiety, phobias, or difficult memories.
EMDR is a powerful, research-backed therapy that helps your brain safely process past experiences, so they no longer hold power over your present. It supports trauma recovery and reduces distressing symptoms.
Inner Child/Parts Work
Best for: Adults with complex trauma, emotional overwhelm, inner conflict, or shame.
This compassionate approach helps you connect with and support younger parts of yourself carrying pain or unmet needs, fostering deep healing and self-compassion.
Somatic Therapy
Best for: Useful for both adults and children to work through trauma held in the body to bring about a more integrated sense of healing and connection.
CPP is a relationship-focused therapy that supports emotional safety and regulation by healing alongside your child in a joint therapeutic space.
Trauma-Informed CBT
Best for: Developing awareness of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influenced by trauma.
This approach blends cognitive tools with trauma-sensitive processing to help reframe negative thinking, reduce fear, and build emotional resilience. Often used with children and caregivers alike.
Dyadic Parent-Child Therapy
Best for: Parents of children ages 0–8 experiencing behavioral, emotional, or relational challenges.
Dyadic therapy teaches parents to recognize their child’s cues and use emotional attunement and play to foster connection, reduce conflict, and support emotional regulation.
Play Therapy
Best for: Young children (0–8) facing behavior concerns, anxiety, depression, trauma, or adoption-related challenges.
Through developmentally appropriate play, children process their experiences safely with caregiver involvement, building trust and emotional growth.
Sandtray Therapy
Best for: Children and adults processing trauma, grief, or emotions that are hard to express.
Using miniatures in a sandbox, this nonverbal approach helps surface hidden feelings and supports healing through creativity and symbolism.
